Lori Bunker

Welcome to my website!  I'm so glad you're here!

I have taught fifth grade for 13 years, and love it.!  I live in Enoch with my husband, two daughters, and one rather naughty dog.  My husband and I also have three daughters and one son who are out on their own, and two really, really cute granddaughters.
I enjoy reading, writing, good movies, and spending time on the mountain.  I also love history, and that is a good thing, because in fifth grade we get to learn about U.S. history. Our country's history isn't made up of names and dates....it is made up of exciting and interesting stories.  I can't wait to share them with you!

Growing up, I traveled a lot because my dad was a United States Marine.  Seeing different parts of the country, and experiencing different cultures lets me see individuals rather than a group. I see each student as a person with strengths to be built on, and weaknesses to be strengthened, academically and socially. I believe that it is important to develop qualities that will make our community--classroom, school, city, national, and global--a better place, just as we develop and grow in the "school subjects."  North Elementary is an amazing school full of dedicated people who help our students develop the tools for success in school and in life!  I am very grateful to live in our community and be a part of the North Elementary Team!

School Supplies for 2010-2011

When your child came to meet me during the last week of school, I sent home a school supply list so that you could take advantage of any great sales that happened along.    If you have misplaced that list, here are some of the recommended items.

*pencils, erasers, glue sticks, scissors
*one package of page protectors
*whiteboard markers (we use these when practicing new concepts and for reviews)
*a kid powered pencil sharpener with something to hold the shavings (the battery powered kind are too noisy)
*two spiral notebooks
*two reams of lined paper
*two of the 3-pronged folders
I will provide colored pencils, but if you prefer crayons or markers, you will need to bring them.

*The folders and spiral notebooks usually go on sale for 10-15 cents each.

*I have tried to keep the supplies to a minimum in order to keep costs down for you at this (rather expen$ive) time of year.

*As always, please feel free to email me with any concerns or questions you may have!
